Cloud Scales / acrylic, gouache, paper cut-outs

 It was an image that came to mind before falling asleep. 

It looked like clouds filled with fish scales.

 Wondering how to portray this, I decided to work with paper cut-outs after a long time. 

It was enjoyable to shape each cloud like a scale, and the colours I painted with were so beautiful that the process was delightful.

 Upon completion, looking at it, I realised that while it constitutes the sky as a whole, it also seems to capture the ever-changing and diverse appearance of the sky within each scale. 

This added a more fascinating dimension to the artwork.

 Certainly, expressing each image in the most suitable manner and medium is both crucial and intriguing.

구름이 물고기 비늘처럼 가득 차 있는 모습.

 이걸 어떻게 표현할까 하다

오랜만에 오리기 작업을 했다.

구름 하나하나가 비늘인 듯 모양을 내는 게 재밌고

칠해진 색들이 너무 예뻐 과정이 즐거웠다. 

 그리고 완성하고 보니, 전체 그림으로써도 하늘을 이루지만 

마치 비늘 하나하나에 시시각각 변화하는, 변화무쌍한 하늘의 모습을 포착해 놓은 듯 보여

더 재미있는 그림이 나왔다 느꼈다. 

 확실히 각 이미지를 그에 가장 적합한 방식과 소재로 표현하는 건 

정말 중요하면서도 흥미로운 부분이다.
