My First Orange Jasmine Flower | 나의 첫 오렌지 자스민 꽃

 

My First Orange Jasmine Flower / Pencil, gouache on paper  

 I thought I had found my path, but even then, I often found myself wavering, refining my direction through numerous trials and errors. 

Until recently, I considered drawing from my inner self as my path. 

However, I feel my creativity and vitality awakening as I draw pictures I genuinely enjoy and take pleasure in. 

Although I had a vague sense of it before, now I think it might be the true purpose of my art.

 This painting was inspired by the first bloom of the orange jasmine. I captured the flower's appearance from various angles. 

While I've been nurturing various plants so far, I rarely focused on flowering plants. 

So this orange jasmine is the first plant I've witnessed the entire process from bud formation to blossoming. 

After extensive pruning and nurturing, only one small flower formed, but even from that tiny blossom, the fragrance of jasmine spread beautifully, filling my heart with delight and a subtle sense of wonder.

 길을 찾았다고 생각하다가도 갈팡질팡하고 또 여러 시행착오와 실패를 통해서 방향이 다듬어지고 있다.

지금까지는 나의 내면을 그리는 게 나의 방향이라 여겨 왔는데

내가 즐거운 그림, 내 즐거움을 목적으로 하는 그림을 그리는 것에서 더 나의 창조성이나 생명력이 깨어남을 느낀다. 

이전에도 얼핏 알았던 것 같은데 지금은 그것이 나의 예술의 진정한 목적이지 않을까 생각한다.

  이 그림은 오렌지 자스민이 첫 꽃을 피운 것에서 영감을 얻어 그린 것이다. 여러 각도에서 관찰한 꽃의 모습을 그림에 담았다. 

지금까지 여러 식물을 키웠는데 꽃은 거의 키워보지 않아, 꽃봉오리가 맺히는 것부터 꽃이 피는 순간까지 전체 과정을 본 식물은 이 오렌지 자스민이 처음이다. 

하도 가지치기하며 괴롭히다 딱 한 송이가 맺혔는데 

그 작은 꽃 한 송이에서도 자스민 향이 아름답게 퍼져 마음 속에 기쁨과 작은 감동이 일었다.
