 The desire to create Christmas-themed art has always lingered in a corner of my heart. However, it was a small feeling that had been forgotten and pushed aside for a long time. 

Since majoring in fine arts, there hasn't been a compelling reason to focus on 'Christmas,' so it naturally became a neglected and submerged subject. 

As a result, Christmas passed by me every year without much consideration.

 Now, as I draw not for the sake of pure art but more for the joy of creating 'my own art,' I feel the freedom to draw the pictures I want without any hindrance. 

This has led me to finally work on a Christmas-themed art with the approaching holiday.

 When I think of Christmas, what constantly draws me in and captivates me are the sparkling lights, such as the green fir tree and the bulbs or star decorations. 

Perhaps, I'm enchanted by the harmonious blend of the robust vitality of the fir tree and the warmth of the yellow light. 

So, during the creative process, I aimed to capture those impressions and feelings.

 Wishing for a winter as resilient and warm as the evergreen tree and lights, sending strength through this cold season.

 예전부터 크리스마스에 대한 그림 작업을 하고 싶다는 소망이 마음 한 켠 구석진 곳에 있었던 것 같다. 

그리고 그것은 나에게 오랜 시간 잊혀지고 밀려난 작은 느낌일 뿐이었다. 

순수 미술을 전공한 후부터, ‘크리스마스’를 굳이 주제 삼을 이유가 없었기 때문에 

너무나도 당연히 외면받고 저 밑으로 가라앉아 버린 소재였다. 

그렇게 ‘크리스마스’는 매번 날 스쳐갔다. 

 하지만 순수 미술이라기 보단 단지 ‘내 그림’을 그리고 있는 지금은, 

어떤 방해나 장애 없이 더 ‘순수’하게 내가 원하는 그림을 그릴 수 있는 자유가 있는 것 같다. 

그래서 다가오는 시즌을 맞아 드디어 크리스마스에 대한 작업을 하게 되었다. 

 크리스마스를 떠올리면 생각나는 무수히 많은 것들 중

계속해서 끌리고, 나를 사로 잡는 것은 푸른 전나무와 전구나 별 장식 등의 반짝이는 빛들이다. 

아마도 전나무의 강인한 생명력과 노란 빛의 따뜻함의 조화에 매료되는 듯 하다. 

그래서 작업하는 동안 그런 인상과 느낌을 담아내고 싶었다. 

모쪼록 이 추운 겨울을 푸른 나무와 빛처럼 강인하고 따뜻하게 보내길 바란다.
